As a candidate for Student Senate President at Casper College, I am driven by a deep-seated commitment to fostering success within our student body. My candidacy is rooted in the belief that effective leadership isn’t about personal accolades but about empowering others and building a community where everyone thrives. Here’s why I am running for Student Senate President and why I believe students should entrust me with their vote.

First and foremost, I believe in servant leadership. I am not motivated by personal glory, but by the genuine desire to see our college community flourish. My philosophy revolves around the idea that successful outcomes stem from collective effort rather than individual recognition. As Student Senate President, I am committed to working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that every student’s voice is heard and that their needs are met.

My diverse array of experiences across various facets of campus life equips me with valuable insights and an open mind. Having been actively involved in different parts of campus, I understand the unique challenges and opportunities that students encounter. My tenure as a freshman Representative provided me with firsthand knowledge of the issues faced by incoming freshmen and transfer students. This experience has sensitized me to the importance of inclusive policies and support systems that cater to the diverse needs of our student body.

I firmly believe that greatness is not achieved in isolation but through the collaboration of dedicated individuals. At Casper College, this network of hardworking individuals comprises students and faculty alike. If elected as Student Senate President, I am committed to fostering stronger connections within this network. I aspire to be a leader who is approachable and accessible to every student, fostering an environment where ideas are freely exchanged, and concerns are promptly addressed.

One of my primary objectives as President is to enhance my involvement with all student clubs. I am eager to establish personal relationships with members of each club, getting to know them on a first-name basis. By immersing myself in the activities and missions of these clubs, I aim to offer meaningful support and guidance whenever needed. My goal is to serve as a resource and advocate for the diverse interests and initiatives that enrich our campus community.

Moreover, I am running for Student Senate President because I am committed to serving as a catalyst for positive change and progress at Casper College. My candidacy is driven by a genuine desire to empower students, amplify their voices, and foster a culture of collaboration and inclusivity. I humbly ask for your vote and support, as together, we strive to create a more vibrant and thriving campus environment for all. Thank you for considering me as your next Student Senate President.

Currently in my first year, I am pursuing a dual major in Auto Body Repair and Collision and Business Administration. This unique combination reflects my passion for both technical skills and business acumen, a blend that I believe equips me well for the challenges of leadership and governance. Beyond the classroom, my involvement in extracurricular activities has played a pivotal role in shaping my character and leadership style. As a former member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA), I had the opportunity to serve as both a secretary and vice president. These experiences taught me the importance of organization, communication, and collaboration—skills that are indispensable in any leadership role. Whether on the field or in the boardroom, I have always approached challenges with determination and a commitment to excellence. One of the hallmarks of my leadership style is my ability to listen and empathize with others. Representatives - School of Health Science

Dustin Davis

Major:  Nursing

Hello, I am Dustin Davis, I am applying for the student senate as a representative for health as sciences. I am originally from Kansas City Missouri before I moved here to Casper two years ago. My overall goal through Casper College was to grow in the community and make endless friends and connections. Joining the sensate would give me this opportunity to get to know more students and be more involved with the activities hosted. I am currently a freshman set towards a nursing degree. I am ready to take on any challenges put in front of me to get seated on the council due to my life experiences before Casper. I was involved in the scouting program where I became an Eagle Scout which isn’t an easy task and only 6% of the population has earned this reward.

While I was in high school, I was a 3-sport varsity athlete, a marching band student, and a teacher’s assistant. I always tried to be involved with students in high school and have the same goal here in college to make a difference. I eventually was led into becoming a 19D (cavalry scout) with the army. I will never regret the decision of becoming a 19D where you are broken down and turned into a soldier willing to put your comrades and job before yourself. I can assure you that I took skills away from the career as attention to detail, time management, and leadership. After my 4-year term, I settled down here in Casper to start my future. Since attending Casper for 2024-2025 I have already become part of the Phi Theta Kappa, The National Society of Leadership and Success, E-sports, and planning to join the running club. When I’m not working on my next assignment, I am outside hiking a bridal trail with my dog or working on an ATV to drive the trains around Casper and finally working with younger scouts to push them towards receiving their Eagle Scout recognition as well. I hope you will take me into consideration to becoming the next Student Senate representative.

Miranda Dickinson

Major:  Pre-Health

Hi! My name is Miranda Dickinson, and I am running for school of health science representative. I am dedicated to making positive changes within our school community. I am passionate about advocating for student needs and ensuring that voices are heard. I am committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where all students feel valued and supported in their academic pursuits. I have a strong track record of leadership and collaboration, and I will work tirelessly to address any concerns or issues that may arise. By voting for me, you are choosing a representative who will actively work to improve the overall student experience and make our school the best it can be.

Taylor Dye

Major:  Radiography

Students should vote for me because I have been in student senate already, and I think that it is important for the students to have a voice of their own on campus. I think that it is important that there is someone who will listen to the students’ wants and needs, and I am willing to take the advice of students and implement that into our meetings. I strive to make campus enjoyable for any and all students that come on campus. I am willing to be the voice of students, while also updating students on campus events and discussions.

Michael Nobles

Major:  EMT

I am a returning first year Student with my major being EMT 1500 but looking to major also in Athletic Training. Why I think Students should vote for me is because of what I can offer other students that has been offered to me which has been the support of many teachers at the college and other amazing staff who provided valuable training when I was taking Criminal Justice and Fire Science.. My Fire Science instructor provided an incredible learning environment where I could learn the skills necessary to help those in need. I have been described as a very quiet person with a big heart to always put others’ needs before my own- whether it’s helping someone with their homework when I used to work at The Boys and Girls Club or organizing fun activities for kids after school to being a camp counselor and a positive influence/role model that the campers could look up to. I remember from my experiences playing basketball with the kids at Boys and Girls Club to educating the community on what I do with the Red Cross such as home fire safety, installing smoke alarms in people’s homes free of charge, educating families on first aid and cpr, handing out books to children on different types of disasters like home fires to helping families have an escape plan if a fire happens that everyone can meet safely. I have done work with Safe Kids Day and Emergency Expo with the Red Cross who I volunteer with. If Selected I will promise to be a Great Leader and an advocate for current but also future students.

Representatives - School of Science

Nolan Hornecker

Major:  Agribusiness and GIS

My name is Nolan Hornecker and I am running for the Casper College Student Senate as a representative for the School of Science. I believe my leadership skills and my presence on the Casper College campus make me a good candidate. In high school, I was a student leader in several organizations, including student council and FFA, serving as treasurer of both. Additionally, I was actively involved in sports, including football, wrestling, and baseball, and served as captain. I believe I would be a good fit to represent the School of Science, as my majors are a part of the School of Science in two different areas of study, Agriculture business and Geographic Information Systems. I am actively engaged in multiple areas within the School of Science and hear many different opinions on matters that could potentially be fixed through the Student Senate. I have already tried to be an active member of the campus community, and I believe that my leadership skills and my connections and outreach to many different teachers, school leaders, and most importantly, the students, would help me serve as an asset to the student body here at Casper College. Thank you for your consideration.

Emily Taylor

Major:  Animal Science

My name is Emily Taylor and I am a freshman here at Casper where I am majoring in animal science. I grew up on a small dairy farm in Southwest Virginia and enjoyed showing lambs throughout highschool. Growing up I was also very active in my local 4H club and FFA chapter. I held several different positions in both and got the opportunity to represent my county and state at the national level for livestock judging. I have been judging livestock for several years and still continue to do so at the collegiate level on Caspers Livestock Judging Team. Outside of livestock I enjoy baking and spending time with family and friends. I believe that students should vote for me for student senate to help represent not only the school of science but also the agriculture department. Agriculture is a huge part of my life and it is my goal to represent fellow agriculture majors and the many programs that are provided. Aside from representing, I am also a very driven individual with a strong work ethic and willing attitude and look forward to helping with Senate events and initiatives.

Representatives - School of Social & Behavioral Sciences

Veronica Mojica

Major:  Social Work/Addiction

The moment has arrived to elect new members into the Student Senate at Casper College.  Prior to casting your votes, I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. For those who haven’t had the chance to meet me yet, my name is Veronica Mojica, but most people call me V.  I’m running for a position representing the School of Social & Behavioral Science.

Casper College is like a second home to me, and I make an effort to be involved in our college community.  I’m a non-traditional student pursuing dual majors in Social Work and Addiction Studies. I am honored to currently hold the position of President in the Social Work Club, recently obtained a board position with the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), and took part in the Humanities Festival as a “Living Book.” I spend a lot of time on campus, but like everyone else I do have a life outside of school.

I am a single mother who is dedicated to raising three amazing children. During my free time, I volunteer as a coach for my two youngest children and their soccer teams at the YMCA. Volunteering as a coach for children has been a rewarding experience for me. Not only do I get to spend quality time with my kids and their friends, but I also have the opportunity to mentor and inspire young athletes. I believe that sports have the power to teach valuable life lessons such as teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship, and I am grateful to be able to play a role in shaping the next generation of athletes.

I have taken on various leadership roles within my community, such as organizing community events, leading volunteer projects, and serving on local committees. My enthusiasm and drive to make a positive impact have allowed me to successfully achieve my goals and inspire others to do the same.

I believe that my track record of leadership and achievement makes me the most suitable candidate for the upcoming election. I have a proven ability to bring people together, listen to their concerns, and work towards solutions that benefit the entire community. I am confident that with my leadership skills and dedication, I can make a real difference in the lives of those in my community. In conclusion, if you’re wondering why you should choose to vote for me, I simply ask, “Why not?!”

Jessica Padilla

Major:  Social Work

I am a non-traditional student working towards a degree in social work and addiction studies. I am an active member of the social work club, and I am eager to join the senate.

As a candidate for Student Senate, I believe I am the best choice to represent the student body and make positive changes on campus. With my strong leadership skills, dedication to serving others, and passion for making a difference, I am confident that I can effectively advocate for the needs and concerns of my fellow students.

I want to work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals. I will demonstrate my ability to listen to diverse perspectives and find solutions that benefit everyone. Additionally, I am committed to promoting inclusivity, diversity, and equity within our school community.

By voting for me for Student Senate, you are not only choosing a dedicated and responsible leader but also someone who will always prioritize the well-being and success of all students. We can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone on campus.
